A Message from Michael Lehnert, Chief Executive Officer
|
As we begin LFoundry’s third year in business as the customer-specific manufacturer of choice for analog, mixed-signal and specialized technologies, we have listened and heard the particular concerns of our global customers.
That is why we have adopted and embraced the concept of “Sicherheit” reliability, security and protection for you, your designs and IP. From the heart of Europe, we are demonstrating that you can trust us with your silicon designs and intellectual property. We will be true to our business model: a pure-play foundry focused on analog, mixed-signal and customer-specific designs.
Why? Because we share your concern that your innovative designs and IP … some with product life spans lasting a decade or more … may be compromised. We too have seen the specter of designs and IP being used against the innovator by a new competitor. We appreciate that these are highly legitimate issues and it is these concerns that LFoundry addresses on a daily basis.
At LFoundry, “Sicherheit” is more than just a German word equating to trust, security, reliability and protection. It also means that LFoundry is there for you, any time, every time. And in order to compete and grow in this business, it also means that our 1,100 employees maintain the dedication and the commitment to provide flexible, price-competitive foundry manufacturing and services 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week, 365-days-a-year.
We are putting this lofty claim into action. In June 2010, LFoundry acquired a 200mm wafer fab in Rousset, France that supports more than 20,000 wafer starts per month. Rousset complements our 200mm Landshut, Germany fab that generates12,000 wafer starts per month. We are also driving an aggressive process technology roadmap from 150nm to 110nm and below with innovative technology extensions and a large variety of reusable IP blocks.
LFoundry is in the business to be successful and that translates into reliability and durability. We are extending our customer base beyond our Central European nucleus to the United Kingdom, USA and other countries around the world. But even as we expand our markets, grow our capacity and enhance our technology capabilities and services, we will never lose sight of the unique needs of our analog, mixed-signal, customer-specific customer base, our partners and suppliers and our employees that work diligently to serve our customers.
“Sicherheit: There for You, Any Time, Every Time” represents our commitment to flexibility, reliability, security and protection. We know first-hand that we can never waiver in the face of this responsibility. We fully intend to maintain this trust and to be your most reliable analog, mixed-signal and specialized technologies pure-play foundry for years to come.
Thank you for being interested in learning more about our company, goals and strategies. This is an exciting time of growth and development for LFoundry GmbH. If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to contact me at +49 (0) 871 684 0. Thank you for your interest in LFoundry.
