PDK Development Engineer

The PDK Development Engineer is responsible to develop, build and maintain the Process Design Kit’s (PDK) containing all needed information related to a process or technology, converted into a design framework, that allow a customer to design their products based on the technology offered by the fab.
The PDK Development Engineer develops the PDK based on the information coming from several groups like technology, device development, TCAD, DR-Team, Test-team, etc…

ACTIVITIES
·         Development, maintenance and improvement of LFoundry process design kits (PDK) incl. support of the commonly used EDA tool from vendors like Cadence, Synopsys
·         Creation of PDK related documentations (e.g. Library specifications and data books)
·         Customer support for PDK related questions                                            
·         Integration of internal and external IP’s into the PDK (e.g. pixels)                                    
·         Ongoing enhancement of existing PDKs with new devices (e.g. NVM, LDMOS)
·         Responsibility for usage, update and documentation of PDK relevant software tools (e.g. PDK scripts, conversion tools, etc…)
·         Development of test benches for simulation of internal and external IP
·         Development, maintenance and improvement of PDK-QA flows
·         Administration and maintenance of the LFoundry-EDA environment
·         Development of necessary/helpful applications for all working environments (Unix-Workstation, PCs)
·        The PDK Development Principal Engineer, in quality of Leader, is responsible of releasing PDK to customers, interface them regarding problems and coordinate the internal problem management
·       He works observing and respecting the Company’s Security Policy by ensuring the availability, integrity and confidentiality of the tangible and intangible assets with which he comes into contact during the course of his duties.
·         As well as having behaviour in compliance with laid procedures, he cares to report possible violations from others.
·        In executing its work is committed to ensure compliance with laws and regulations and the observance of the Code of Ethics and the Model and company policies in order to avoid possible accidents, impacts on the environment and any other violation
·         Contribution to cost cutting programs

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES
Position Requirements
·         Master Degree in a technical field
·         Strong fundamental understanding of analog and mixed-signal design flows methodologies
·         Strong experience in PDK development
·         Fundamental understanding CAD/EDA in general
·         Experience with EDA Software from vendors like Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor, etc…
·         Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
·         Basic familiarity with UNIX/Linux and software development techniques 
Desirable Requirements
·         Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Perl, Python, Tcl/Tk and skill)
·         Experience with version control tools like SVN
·         Knowledge and application of the concepts of risk analysis and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis)
·         Basic knowledge about statistical behaviour of silicon devices due to process tolerances and their statistical modelling Knowledge
·         Strong organizational skills (incl. project management skills for leader)
·         Strong organizational skills, to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and know how to set priorities according to requirements
